Taking a Pause to Create: Designing and Decorating My New Home

Sometimes, stepping away from the day-to-day demands of business offers the perfect chance to reconnect with old passions and discover new ones. Recently, I took just such a pause, setting aside my wall art to pour my energy into designing and decorating my new home.

This was no ordinary decorating project. From the very beginning, I wanted this space to be special — not just a nice backdrop, but an elegant and harmonious sanctuary. Every corner, every detail, was thoughtfully considered, crafted, and curated.
Designing a home is like telling a story without words. It’s about textures, colours, shapes, and how these elements make you feel when you step inside. For me, this meant going beyond shopping for furniture and decor. It meant creating my own objects — when I couldn’t find anything else that told the story I wanted to tell.
I delved into ceramics, shaping clay into bowls, planters, and vessels that feel warm and tactile.
Working with eco-resin became a favourite, allowing me to craft sustainable accents that gleam.
I also learned the delicate art of candle making, filling my rooms with soft light and classic subtle scents, adding to the cozy ambiance.
And then, something unexpected happened — I revisited an old craft: jewellery making. Using polymer clay, I began sculpting unique pieces that play with colour and form. It’s been wonderful to reconnect with this craft, and I’m excited to soon share these wearable art pieces as I develop my collections.
The result is a home that feels truly mine. It is authentic, harmonious, and alive — a place where every object has a story and every detail invites calm and inspiration. This experience didn’t just transform my living space; it allowed me to gain new skills, discover new joys, and deepen my appreciation for handmade, thoughtful and uplifting design.
I look forward to sharing more about my new designs, including my jewellery collections and updates on my website. But for now, here are a few photos of my home and some of the pieces I have lovingly created to adorn it. I hope they inspire you to embrace your own creativity —whether that’s a small project or a bold new adventure.
