It all began as a need for calm, during periods of overwhelm, and feeling out of sync with a world that often felt too loud, creativity became my refuge — a way to self-regulate, ground myself, and breathe again.

Working with my hands — textures, shapes, repetition, and beauty — soothed me in ways words never could, quietly revealing how powerful sensory-aware design can be. Making became my medicine.

Receiving an autism diagnosis later in life helped everything click — my deep sensitivity, attention to detail, and need for sensory harmony weren’t flaws, but guides. The same traits that once made life harder — intense focus, heightened sensory awareness, authenticity — became strengths, shaping how I design and create.

What started as something I made for myself slowly evolved into Lise Fiola Creations — a space where thoughtful, handmade objects could carry calm beyond my own home. Each piece reflects a refined French-inspired elegance, created slowly and deliberately, with materials and forms chosen to feel as good as they look.

Through my blog Awkward Moments, I share the realities behind the beauty — the awkwardness, the growth, and the truth of living as an autistic woman — because connection itself is soothing.

A Few More Things About Me

I’ve been making jewellery for about 20 years.

I’m French Canadian, my great-grandmother was a servant in France, and I often wonder about the life she lived and the things she witnessed… it’s something that quietly inspires me.

I absolutely love animals—I share my home with three dogs and a cat, I write about them here.

I would also like to introduce my son, Remi, who is the friendly face behind our local deliveries and an essential part of the day-to-day operations at our small family business. As the delivery driver, he helps make sure every order arrives with care and reliability, while also pitching in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.  Remi is a multi-creative with a passion for music and a natural talent for production, bringing the same creativity and dedication to his art that he brings to the family business.
